03.12.2020. The 8th Digital Earth Summit Successfully Held Online

The 8th Digital Earth Summit was successfully held online from 30th November to 2nd December 2020. The Summit with the theme of “Digital Earth in a Changed World: Challenges and Opportunities” was organized by the International Society for Digital Earth (ISDE) and hosted by Neogeography Group (Protvino Technopark, Russia) and the Department of Geoinformatics, University of Salzburg (Austria). More than 300 people from 70 countries participated to the Summit and 24 invited speakers gave presentations.

05.11.2020. ISDE President honored with Lifetime Achievement Award

Alessandro Annoni, President of the International Society for Digital Earth, and former Head of the Digital Economy Unit at the European Commission – Joint Research Centre was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award on October 6, 2020, during the Geospatial World Awards 2020 event. Alessandro Annoni has played a pivotal role in the development and proliferation of spatial sciences in Europe, and promoting Digital Earth vision worldwide. Annoni was also technical coordination of the INSPIRE directive and co‐chair of the Group on Earth Observation(GEO) Program Board.

03.11.2020. National remote sensing constellation «Kanopus-V» was awarded a prize by the Russian Government

Team of the Russian Space Systems Holding was awarded the 2020 Prize of the Government of the Russian Federation in the field of science and technology for their work on the creation and targeted application of the innovative space system for complex monitoring of emergency situations «Kanopus-V». Constellation of «Kanopus-V» constellation includes five satellites. One more remote sensing satellite of the same type, Belorussian BKA, is deployed on the same orbit.
